About this place
At Yakitori Jiro, diners have singled out the cabbage served with the yakitori, potato salad and Manganji peppers. There is more to enjoy than the skewers alone, with side dishes and other small plates to round out a meal.
The grilled selection includes chicken thigh, negima (chicken and spring onion), seseri (chicken neck), tsukune (chicken meatballs), chicken tenderloin wrapped with shiso, cartilage and gizzard. The menu lists most skewers at 200 yen each, with chicken wings at 250 yen. Choose a few to make a meal around the grill, or try individual cuts that catch your eye. One visitor described the yakitori as thick-cut and juicy; another enjoyed the liver skewer and stew. Liver is on the menu, and a diner mentions asking how thoroughly it was cooked. If you prefer not to eat it rare, you can ask about the cooking when ordering.
Between skewers, consider doteyaki (miso-simmered beef tendon), a doteyaki rice bowl or rice balls. The drinks list includes beer and highballs, as well as sake and shochu from Iichiko, Nikaido and Kurokirishima. That leaves room for anything from a quick drink to a more substantial meal. The restaurant is described as suitable for dining solo, and both dine-in service and reservations are available. Karaoke is also listed, offering another way to spend time here beyond sharing skewers and drinks.
